What’n the hell are Iranian MOO-lahs? The president is going on and on about Iranian moolahs. Is he talking about Rials or Dinars or something?
Oh wait, I think he meant to say Mullah, which ain’t slang for money.

By the way, here’s a new screenshot of my Linux from Scratch system, Zelda. It’s the one I built from, well, scratch. I like the pretty purple. I’ve got XMMS running up in the top left hand corner, Gkrellm is running over on the left, and Gnome Terminal is in the center. Cool, huh?

Debatable

Ari sent me some great links this morning about how retarded the debates are. I’ve been stewing about this for a few days now; George Farah sums up my ire pretty well: these are “stultified debates that produce scripted sound bites rather than authentic discussion.” Why aren’t more people in this country speaking up about […]

I’ve never been this gaa-gaa before ever: The Kleptones’ A Night at the Hip-Hopera. It’s Queen samples to hip hop songs from De La Soul, Beastie Boys and even Eminem (and a bunch of others). It’s just the most amazing thing ever posted on the Internet. I’ve linked to the Waxy mirror since the actual […]

I like watching political shows with Ari because she’s good at spotting the tricks being pulled. Take for instance Ralph Reed’s appearance on the Daily Show last night. Jon Stewart was asking Reed, who is the Southeast chairman of the Bush campaign, about the upcoming debates and Reed began to explain that Bush has never […]

Bill O’Really?

Bill O’Reilly, the self-annointed King of Research and All That Is Sacred in These End Times, recently interviewed Jon Stewart and made this stellar assessment of his audience:
You know what’s really frightening? You actually have an influence on this presidential election. That is scary, but it’s true. You’ve got stoned slackers watching your dopey show […]

Wow, Frank Serpico has a website. And a blog. From the about page:
Ten 13 PI Productions Inc. was developed by Frank Serpico and his nephew Vincent Serpico as an organization to develop media projects that progress ethical culture. The Frank Serpico website is the first project in the development of this cooperative endeavor.
Here’s what Vincent […]

Sayest Thou Doest Thine Wrongeth

“Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?” From Jefferson Bible, chapter 16, verse 52.
I’ve been trying really hard to read and understand the Jefferson Bible, but the language is maddening. It’s packed with thines and thees and thous and doests and wilts. For those who […]

There should be a law against doing dumb things after, say, 9 pm. See if there was a law against it, I wouldn’t have decided at 10 pm that it would be “a good idea” to 1) reformat my Fedora drive (because it’s got 14 gigs of space, which is a lot of gigs!), 2) […]
