So in case you hadn’t heard, Ashcroft (really Hatch, but what’s the difference?) has just pulled the “VICTORY Act” out of his butt. Yes, he wants more power. Hard to believe, I know. Part of this new Act would allow the US to classify certain drug offenses as “terrorism.” Soon, simply criticizing the president will be considered “terrorism.” (Oh yeah, I forgot - it almost is.) But getting back to the Acts, I wonder what’s next. The Repent Now Act? Perhaps followed by the Salvation Act? And we can’t forget the Judgment Day Act. That’s Ashcroft’s ultimate goal. Once he passes that Act, he’ll finally have more power than God.

terrifying, isn’t it? Can I recommend a salve: read Jim Hightower’s new book (Thieves in High Places) and watch the new documentary on Chomsky.

I’m off to an anti-Bush rally tomorrow outside a mansion where he’s stroking the elite for cash. I’ll try to take pictures and send them to you.
