Links, because I’m, uh, too busy to write something original. Yeah, that’s it: Michael Chabon has a website [via The Morning News]. Also, try your hand at the First Lines quiz [via Booboolina] - I got all the children’s first lines correct. Fancy that. And speaking of children’s books, go have a look at J. […]

April 14, 2002: Sunday morning. Ari was uncomfortable. Had a fitful night. Got up, ate something, felt much better, went back to bed and slept for another few hours. Good thing. Little did we know that when she woke up again she wouldn’t sleep again for a good 24 to 36 hours.
We’d been keeping up […]

In my state of incomprehension and disbelief over the last couple of days, I erroneously reported that Gabriel’s cranium was 15 cm. I thought they were measuring diameter, and since 10 cm. is standard cervical dilation during childbirth, I presumed that meant his head was 15 cm. in diameter (yes, ouch). But I was wrong. […]

Born: April 15, 2002; Weight: 9 lbs. 4 oz.; Length: 22 in.; Cranium: 15 in.; Species: human. Ari is well, tired, happy. Gabriel is soft, zen, beautiful. Julien is ecstatic, amazed, proud. Michael is confused, lost, delirious (as usual).
Okay, so, for nearly nine months, we were pretty set on either Eliot or Ezra. But then […]

Baby?

No. Not yet. Current regimen: raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil, Dr. Christopher’s Pre-Natal Tea dietary supplement (which includes black cohosh, squawvine, pennyroyal, false unicorn and lobelia), rigorous afternoon and evening walks, and lots and lots of sex. Needless to say, I am quite happy with the current regimen.

No baby yet. Dr. visit today yielded little to ease our anxious minds. Good news: baby’s still head down, in position, and I’m thankful for that. Bad news: any intervention (i.e., castor oil and vodka cocktail, bungee jumping, etc.) right now would be ineffective and would cause unnecessary discomfort for Ari.
So.
Chess, anyone?

So, new colors! Wow! It’s greenish, kinda, huh? With a bit of red. Reminds me of a martini olive. And the dude over there at left looking suspiciously at my text now has a subtle glow about him. A radiant sheen, if you will. I’m thinking Roswell here, what with those funky x-ray specs and […]

Due Date

There’s a little scientific-looking dial-chart thingy that doctors use to tell a woman when her baby will be born. It’s hokum. And I don’t care if the doctor warned us not to get too attached to that specific date, she shoulda kept her mouth shut because I did get attached to it even though I […]
