I have a door! I’m beside myself. I … I have a door, and it will soon have my name on it. Michael Brown. That’s what it’ll say. And it’ll be mine. And on the other side of the door there’s an office. And everything in that office is mine. Well, technically it belongs to the State of Texas, but you know what I mean. Today was my first day. I spent the morning in HR orientation. After lunch, I was introduced to my office (oh, and I met some people I’ll be working with, too). The only downside is that my office is the only office that does not have a window overlooking the glorious and majestic Texas State Capitol Building in a long line of other offices that do have windows overlooking said majesty, but that’s okay. I’ve got a door. Not that I’d ever want to close the door, being the freaking people-person that I am (what? you wanna make something of it?!), but it’s nice to have one.
