Leg

Miles has a ruptured cranial cruciate ligament in his back left leg. Poor guy started limping on Sunday. I thought it might just be a twist or a bite or something, so I gave it through Monday to get better. It didn’t. We took him in on Tuesday for examination. Surgery is the only reasonable […]

What a great four days off! I hardly touched the computer. My only cybernetic interaction was searching Google for song lyrics and downloading the mp3 for Slaid Cleaves‘ “Broke Down.” If you haven’t heard the song before, go here and listen to it. It’s about halfway down the page. It’s the good kind of country […]

Thank God

I’ve been offered a new job. I am currently in salary negotiations. It is with the State of Texas. I am very happy. Being patient waiting for their counter offer is excruciating. I’m ready (crimeny, you can’t imagine how ready I am) to write my letter of resignation. Oh, and good news abounds: we’re having […]

Exhausted

The tree is down. It no longer poses a threat to the house. My backyard is littered with carnage. It’ll take days, maybe weeks to clear everything out. I took a walk this morning. Everyone was hit. Trees are down all up and down the block. My street is the middle of a trio of […]

A tornado is currently headed toward Austin. It appears to be following IH-35 north. If you need me, I’ll be in the basement.

Happy birthday to Zora Alegna Lindsey Yearwood who arrived yesterday afternoon, weighing in at 7 lbs. 7 oz., and measuring an even 20 in. (Thanks, Ari, for pointing out that I’d originally said 20 cm. Oy! I’ve been measuring books too long!) Congratulations to Amy and Gabby on a very triumphant and well-timed delivery!
