Went looking for that Tom Robbins fan site a couple days ago. I had first visited it way back in ‘96 or ‘97 and remember being freaked out that the person running the site could identify my ip address. Ok so I was still learning back then, gimme a break.

The site is pretty goofy, just like Robbins himself, which is why I love it. I was contemplating buying his latest, Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates (still in hardcover, so nah), and was looking for reviews/info about it when I learned that Terence McKenna had died — 5 months ago! Where have I been? I didn’t even know he was ill. I followed as many links from the AFTRlife as I could and discovered that he’d been diagnosed with brain cancer in early ‘99 and died this past April.
